Topic: 727 Tararu Road
Topic type:
A good example of Victorian architecure, the house dates from around 1900.
It features an unusual for Thames, bull-nosed veranda roof. Other features include rusticated weatherboards, paired veranda posts and the original front door sidelights.
Despite what was seen as tremendous potential, the Tararu was never a high producing area for gold, but with such features as the gardens Tararu was recognised as a desirable residential area.
This house reflects the upmarket nature of Tararu in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
